Privacy Policy

This page explains what information SearchEngineAnswer may receive, why it is used, and the controls currently available to readers.

Current state:

SearchEngineAnswer uses Google Analytics 4 through Site Kit to measure site use. Eligible public content can also load Google AdSense and Google’s privacy-message service. Loading advertising code does not mean that this website has been approved to display ads. Google may receive technical information, including the page visited, device information and identifiers, according to the applicable settings and choices. See how Google uses information from partner sites.

Information received automatically

The web server and security systems may record technical logs such as IP address, time, requested URL, referrer, browser or device information, and error or security events. These records support delivery, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and security.

Information you choose to provide

  • Newsletter: the email address you submit, subscription status, and delivery events needed to operate and protect the list.
  • Comments: the name, email, optional website, comment, IP address, and browser information WordPress uses for moderation and spam control.
  • Contact: the message and contact details you send by email.

Browser storage and the installed app

The footer’s Site storage settings control remembers local functional preferences. It does not disable Google Analytics or advertising. Google’s privacy messages and privacy options, when available, are separate controls for Google services. Interactive checklists can store progress locally. The installable web app uses a service worker to cache static files and an offline page; it does not cache private admin pages or logged-in content. See the cookie policy for details.

Why information is used

Information supports site delivery, requested subscriptions, comment moderation, messages, preferences, security, troubleshooting and audience measurement. Google advertising services may use information for ad delivery and measurement under their own policies and the choices available to the visitor.

Service providers

Hosting, email delivery, spam prevention and security providers may process information needed for those functions. Google supplies Analytics, AdSense and privacy-message services. External links and embedded services operate under their own policies. A provider’s role, available controls and processing location can differ by service.

Retention

Records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the function, security, legal obligations, dispute handling, or an ongoing publication record. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe using the link in each email.

Your choices and requests

Use Google’s privacy options when offered to manage Google advertising choices. Site storage settings manages local functional storage only. You can also clear browser data, unsubscribe from email, avoid posting a comment, or request access, correction or deletion where applicable. Contact hello@searchengineanswer.com. Identity verification may be required before acting on a request.

Children

SEA is a professional publication and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit a child’s personal information through the site.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new update date. We review the policy and controls when a provider, measurement purpose, advertising configuration or account feature changes. This description is not a certification that every regional consent requirement has been satisfied.
