Publication standards

Editorial Policy

Every published page must answer a real reader question, show the evidence behind its material claims, add a defensible original contribution, and keep uncertainty visible.

Accountability and scope

SearchEngineAnswer is currently written and edited by Abdessalam Alaoui. The named author is responsible for the page’s source selection, interpretation, original contribution, update record, and corrections. Future contributors must receive their own byline and author page.

The publication covers SEO, AEO, GEO, AI-search visibility, citations, search analytics, content systems, technical implementation, research methods, tools, and checklists. It does not present general legal, medical, financial, or security information as professional advice.

Reader job and format

Before research begins, the page receives one primary reader job: a question to answer, a decision to support, or a task to complete. Its format must match the work actually performed.

  • News identifies a verified change, date, availability, affected reader, source, and unresolved question.
  • Articles provide a focused answer, example, boundary, and justified next action.
  • Guides provide prerequisites, ordered steps, failure states, and completion criteria.
  • Research provides a question, sample or dataset, method, results, limitations, and inspectable evidence.
  • Reviews state access conditions, testing method, commercial relationship, tradeoffs, alternatives, and a bounded verdict.

A protocol without completed results can be useful working material, but it is not presented as finished research. Unfinished protocol pages are withheld from public editorial collections and search indexing until the declared test is completed or the page is rebuilt as a complete guide.

Sources and verification

Primary documentation, standards, source code, release notes, official datasets, public records, and retained first-party observations are preferred for factual claims. Independent reporting and expert analysis can add context or challenge an interpretation. Community discussion can identify questions and edge cases, but a post or comment is not automatic proof of platform behavior.

Time-sensitive claims record the applicable date, product version, geography, account state, test environment, or retrieval date. Consequential numbers are checked against another source when possible. Search-result snippets are not used as the sole authority for a claim.

Every material statement is treated as documented fact, direct observation, attributed opinion, reasoned inference, recommendation, or unresolved uncertainty. The language should reveal which type of claim the reader is evaluating.

Original contribution

A rewritten announcement or polished summary is insufficient for a substantial page. The working brief must identify what SearchEngineAnswer contributes beyond its sources. Appropriate contributions include a documented implementation, reproducible test, calculation, comparison, annotated screenshot, decision framework, failed approach, counterexample, downloadable template, tool, checklist, dataset, or connection between independently verified facts.

If no defensible contribution exists, the topic should remain a concise news item, be combined with a stronger resource, or not be published.

Research and testing records

Original research preserves the question, sample, dates, environment, inputs, classification rules, exclusions, failures, and stopping rule. Results are reported within the tested conditions. A small sample, association, or one-platform observation is not presented as a universal causal rule.

When privacy, product terms, or licensing prevent publication of raw data, the page explains that boundary and provides an inspectable derived artifact when possible. Failed runs and absent results remain part of the record.

AI assistance and human review

AI can assist with bounded organization, comparison, coding, analysis, editing, or production tasks. Generated text is not a source, does not establish a fact, and cannot manufacture product access or first-person experience. The named author remains responsible for the published result. The complete workflow appears in the AI-use and fact-checking policy.

Updates, corrections, and removals

Publication dates are preserved. A modified date changes only after a meaningful editorial revision. Material factual errors receive a visible correction or update note under the corrections policy. When pages overlap, the weaker page may be merged and redirected. A page whose central conclusion can no longer be supported may be withdrawn with an explanation.

Commercial independence

Advertising, sponsorship, affiliate eligibility, free access, or a supplied product cannot purchase coverage or determine a conclusion. Material relationships are disclosed near the affected content. Paid placements must be distinguishable from navigation and editorial material. See the advertising and sponsorship policy and affiliate disclosure.

Questions and challenges

Readers can challenge a claim, submit contrary evidence, or report an error through the contact page. Include the URL, disputed passage, evidence, and date. Promotional links, personal attacks, spam, and undisclosed commercial requests are not accepted as editorial evidence.
