Privacy Policy

This page explains what information SearchEngineAnswer may receive, why it is used, and the controls currently available to readers.

Last updated August 6, 2026

Current state:

SEA does not currently load an optional analytics service or behavioral advertising tracker. If that changes, this policy and the consent controls will be updated before optional tracking is enabled.

Information received automatically

The web server and security systems may record technical logs such as IP address, time, requested URL, referrer, browser or device information, and error or security events. These records support delivery, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and security.

Information you choose to provide

  • Newsletter: the email address you submit, subscription status, and delivery events needed to operate and protect the list.
  • Comments: the name, email, optional website, comment, IP address, and browser information WordPress uses for moderation and spam control.
  • Contact: the message and contact details you send by email.

Browser storage and the installed app

The cookie preference control stores your necessary-only choice in your browser. Interactive checklists can store progress locally. The installable web app uses a service worker to cache static files and an offline page; it does not cache private admin pages or logged-in content. See the cookie policy for details.

Why information is used

Information is used to deliver the site, provide requested subscriptions, moderate comments, answer messages, remember choices, secure the service, diagnose failures, and meet applicable obligations.

Service providers

Hosting, email delivery, spam prevention, and security providers may process limited information on our behalf to provide those functions. External links and embedded services operate under their own policies.

Retention

Records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the function, security, legal obligations, dispute handling, or an ongoing publication record. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe using the link in each email.

Your choices and requests

You can decline optional storage, clear local browser data, unsubscribe from email, avoid posting a comment, or request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Contact hello@searchengineanswer.com. Identity verification may be required before acting on a request.

Children

SEA is a professional publication and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit a child’s personal information through the site.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new update date. This operational policy should be reviewed again before analytics, advertising, payment, or account systems are introduced.
